Mount Snowdon in happier times*
Shocked locals in Snowdonia emerged from their homes last Wednesday morning to find Mount Snowdon devoid of snow.
A heavy fall of snow the night before had left the famous Welsh mountain with at least 3 inches of snow on its' peak.
Local police are baffled by the disappearance by the disappearance of at least 90% of this and other recent snowfalls.
Local man Ivor Pugh (or Ivor the Sheep as he is known locally) says he witnessed at least two men and a Ford Transit with a refrigeration unit acting suspiciously on the mountain last Tuesday.
The area relies heavily upon the mountain for income from tourism and will be devastated financially if the snow keeps disappearing. The last industry in the area - whittling toothpicks from discarded matchsticks closed down some three years ago after the Chinese captured the market.

Bunce Says - Global warming ?

Local rumours of global warming being responsible have been largely discounted although as a precautionary measure anybody over the age of 70 has had their gas and electricity cut off. Local police say they will patrol the area and put out fires in elderly peoples homes to minimise any possible impact.
Police are seeking information from the public and would like to hear from anyone who has recently observed anyone purchasing unusually large quantities of 'ice packs' and large chest freezers.
